AFRICA/GUINEA BISSAU-Pastoral workers from Bissau at a conference: verification and programming of the pastoral year

Monday, 27 June 2011

Bissau (Fides Service) - The pastoral year in the diocese of Bissau officially closed yesterday, Sunday, June 26 and the diocesan pastoral workers are now called to verify what has been done over the past year and plan the new pastoral year 2011-2012. According to what the Curia of Bissau told Fides, on 28-30 June, all pastoral workers of the Diocese of Bissau will gather in the diocesan curia to hear the reports presented by the parishes, missions, commissions and pastoral services. The Permanent Council of the diocesan Secretariat of the Pastoral invited the representatives of the different pastoral realities: priests, religious and lay leaders to take part in the meeting. The work will be led by the pastoral letter dedicated to the formation of moral conscience for a better testimony, that Archbishop Jose Camnate na Bissign, Bishop of Bissau, addressed to his faithful for the pastoral year 2010/2011, officially opened on World Day Mission in 2010 (see Fides 02/10/2010). Starting from the questions and proposals contained in the letter, what has been done in this year will be analyzed and will identify the challenges related to the pastoral care for others.
