Seattle (Agenzia Fides) - The bishops of the United States of America gather for the Spring General Assembly from 15 to 17 June, in Seattle. Among the measures scheduled on the agenda: discussion and vote on a document with regards to assisted suicide and sexual abuse committed by priests. The Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People has been revised and adapted to the recent guidelines provided by the Vatican, and has included child pornography, a crime that the Holy See must judge. It will also discuss how the Episcopal Conference of the United States promotes marriage. Cardinal Wuerl will present the latest developments of the "personal bishopric" for Anglicans who wish to turn to the Catholic Church. During this meeting there will be a vote on issues related to the liturgy, the Spanish translation of the Roman Missal and prayers for the main feasts in the Spanish-speaking countries, in order to promote greater integration.
