Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - The Canossian Third Order and Dominican Third Order in Hong Kong welcomed new members in recent days. According to reports from the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), 5 new members of the Canossian Third Order made their profession of faith before Msgr. Michael Yeung Ming Cheung, diocesan Vicar, during the solemn Mass celebrated in the chapel of the Canossians. The provincial Superior of the Canossian province in Hong Kong and Macao, Sister. Cynthia Chan, general Coordinator of the Order and the spiritual director, along with eighty religious and Third Order members attended the profession, accepting new members through prayer and fraternity. The five new members of the Dominican Third Order pronounced their temporary vows in front of their spiritual Director.
In the diocese of Hong Kong, there are 16 male and 28 female religious institutes, more than 357,000 local faithful and 173,000 loyal foreign residents in Hong Kong . The long years of missionary service provided by the religious and pastoral care has given rise to a large group of lay people who share their charisma, thus forming the Third Order, as the Canossian, Dominican and Franciscan.
