AMERICA/CHILE - Apostolic Vicar of Aysen prepares to receive Apostolic Nuncio for the first time

Aysen (Agenzia Fides) – “This visit is an important one for the Church in Aysen and for the region,” says the Apostolic Vicar of Aysen, Bishop Luis Infanti, to Fides in reference to the upcoming visit by the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto, and by the Undersecretary of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, Fr Massimo Cenci, PIME, on the occasion of the 36th Pastoral Care Day of the Vicariate (see Fides 07/03/2011).
With regards to the agenda of the visit, which will run from 18 to 22 March, the Pastor of the Church of Aysen reported that the Apostolic Nuncio and the Undersecretary will participate in two stages of the Pastoral Care Day of Aysen. The first time will be on Saturday afternoon, 19 March, at the House of Belen, and the second during the concluding Eucharistic Mass to be held at 11 am on Sunday 20th at the Cathedral of Coyhaique. After Mass, there will be a brief meeting of representatives from the Holy See with the regional authorities.
Another highlight of the program includes a visit to the various works of the Servant Sisters of St Joseph and those of the Don Guanellian Society, religious congregations that this year will celebrate the Canonisation of their Founder (Sister Bonifacia Rodriguez and Don Luigi Guanella). The works visited by Archbishop Pinto and Fr Cenci will be: the “Hogar de Niñas Sor Bosatta Clara”, the Father Anthony Ronchi house for the elderly, the Francisco Xavier Butiña school, the workshop and the laboratory of the Servants of Saint Joseph.
