ASIA/HOLY LAND - The relics of the Patron of Missions in Jerusalem

Jerusalem (Agenzia Fides) – The relics of St Terese of Lisieux, Patron of Missions, arrived yesterday, 14 March, at the airport in Tel Aviv, welcomed by the Apostolic Nuncio in Israel, Archbishop Antonio Franco, by the Latin Patriarch, Fouad Twal, and by another 25 representatives from the Catholic Church in the Holy Land. The relics were then immediately transferred to Jerusalem. According to a report to Fides by the Assistant Custos of the Holy Land, Fr Artemio Vitores, “the mortal remains of St Terese of Lisieux, Patron of Missions, will be held in the quarters of the Apostolic Delegate to Jerusalem until 16 March, when they will be solemnly handed over to the Latin Patriarchate.” The celebration of the Relics of St Therese' entrance in Jerusalem will take place on 16 March at 4:30 pm, at the entrance of the Jaffa Gate, followed at 5:30 pm by a celebration at the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
