New York (Agenzia Fides) – The National Office of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in the United States launched a new multi-media website yesterday, on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, 2 February. This follows the September launch of two other new websites by the American PMS – MissionInScripture.org and PreachingMission.org (See Fides 30/09/2010). The new site – MissionVioces.org - “celebrates the call to each of us to proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior, just as Anna and Simeon did in the Temple when they encountered the infant Jesus with Mary and Joseph (cf. Luke 2:22-38),” said the communication received by Fides.
Mons. John E. Kozar, National Director of the PMS in the United States says in the introduction on the website: “Today, and every day, each of us in this ‘one family in mission’ is called to offer the same witness... by our words and the example of our lives.” Many audio messages may be accessed on the site, such as lessons from Mons. Kozar and excerpts from a documentary on Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. In addition, brief audio reflections will feature from missionaries, and local priests, religious and laity on mission. “No one is introduced, so that listeners may instead focus on the message, reflecting as well on the personal call, through Baptism, to be a 'mission voice' daily,” stated the release.
