ASIA/HONG KONG - “Bulletin for the Study of Catholicism” launched by the Chinese University Catholic Studies Centre

Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) – The “Bulletin for the Study of Catholicism” has been created by the Chinese University Catholic Studies Centre. According to reports from the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), the Bulletin is intended as a platform for academic exchange. “Vatican II” is the theme for the launch. The second edition should be dedicated to the translation of the Bible into Chinese. The authors of the texts, priests and lay people, published in the first edition, analyzed and reflected on the spirit of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council in the Church in Asia, China and Hong Kong.
According to Father Taverne, director of the Chinese University Catholic Studies Centre, the bulletin aims to provide an academic and scientific study of Catholicism and of the Chinese community. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 29/12/2010)
