AMERICA/PERU - Meeting in Lima for 25 years of the Christian Life Movement

Tuesday, 23 November 2010

Lima (Agenzia Fides) – This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Christian Life Movement (CLM), and thousands of people will gather on 27 November at the College of La Recoleta in Lima, Peru's capital. The meeting, which has as its theme “With gratitude and hope”, will see the participation of representatives from the provinces of Peru and of members of the CLM from various countries.
As reported to Fides by the General Coordinator of CLM, Eduardo Regal, with this meeting “we would like to thank God for all the blessings received during this time, to renew the identity of CLM and to engage us in the mission the Lord has entrusted to us: to transform reality as did the Lord Jesus, with the true hope of children of God.”
The CLM is a communal place to meet the Lord Jesus, in which we try to live an authentic and committed Christian life. By committing ourselves to accept the grace that the Spirit pours into our hearts, members discover the invitation to meet the Lord Jesus, to announce and proclaim the Gospel of reconciliation in the world, revealed a statement sent to Fides by the organizers of CLM. The meeting on November 27 will also be characterized by the exhibition by musical groups of Latin American Catholic folklore.
The CLM was established in 1985 by a Peruvian lay person, Luis Fernando Figari. In 1994 the Holy See approved CLM as an Association of Pontifical Right. The Christian Life Movement is an ecclesial movement with a spirituality and a style truly in communion with the Church, and that is part of the Sodalite Family. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 23/11/2010)
