ASIA/TAIWAN - Archdiocese of Tai Pei living Month of Rosary in preparation for World Mission Sunday

Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - According to information received by Fides, the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, led by its pastor, Bishop John Hung Shan Chuan, is intensely living the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary with a pilgrimage and the solemn celebration of the 30th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Wu Feng Qi and the 5th anniversary of the construction of the Shrine-Church dedicated to her. They are also multiplying their missionary activity, in preparation for World Mission Sunday on October 24th.
The faithful in 10 parishes of the 4th deanery of the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, together with the congregations in the deanery, such as the Sisters of Charity, the Sisters of the Holy Family, the House of St. Anne, etc. participated in the pilgrimage of October 2nd, led by four priests, to the shrine dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. After praying with the Sisters, they continued their pilgrimage in the Diocese of HsingChu, site of "The Holy House of Loreto-Touwu," where they attended Mass, praying for the missions.
On this 30th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Wu Feng Qi, Bishop John Hung Shan Chuan will chair a commemoration meeting on October 17th. On this occasion, a DVD and film telling the story of the apparition of the Virgin and the 30 year history of the testimony of faith will be shown. On November 9th there will be a pilgrimage and a Solemn Mass to remember the 5th anniversary of the Church-Shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Wu Feng Qi. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 14/10/2010)
