Lima (Agenzia Fides) – The Archdiocese of Lima has opened a website to help the faithful of the world to celebrate the feast of Saint Rose of Lima. A note sent to Fides says: "On the feast of St. Rose of Lima, the Archdiocese of Lima wishes to offer the public a special website in honor of the Patroness of the Americas, India, and the Philippines." The site contains biographical information, images, documents, articles, links, and all relevant information on the life of the Holy Peruvian and its influence in the Catholic world. You can also find the texts of prayers and a novena in preparation for the main festival that takes place today, August 30, in all of Peru, although the universal liturgical calendar celebrates her feast on August 23. The new feature this year is the opening of an e-mail account (grupo_santarosa@hotmail.com) where people can write and submit their requests and their intentions, which will later be deposited into the "wishing well" for intentions that is in Shrine of St. Rose of Lima.
