OCEANIA/AUSTRALIA - 'C-Radio': a new Catholic radio station

Wednesday, 14 July 2010

Sydney (Agenzia Fides) – A new Catholic radio station has just opened in Sydney. It is called 'C- Radio' (meaning Catholic Radio) and will broadcast news, information, podcasts of prayers and spirituality, recorded readings and a programme for young people.
As Fides learned from the Church of Sydney, the star item of the new radio station will be a 'live dialogue' programme with Bishop Julian Porteous, auxiliary Bishop of Sydney, who will brave “the fire” of questions from listeners on all sorts of topics.
Among the first programmes with which the radio presents itself “Faith, Life and Youth”; a programme of “ intercontinental and intercultural testimony” by Nigerian Brother John Lawani, a novice of the Congregation of the Missionaries of God's Love; and a fascinating story told by Capuchin Friar Robert Stewart OFM Cap who explains to the listeners the connection between his religious Order and the favourite breakfast beverage of many Australians.
