ASIA/TAIWAN - Registration for this year's Taiwan Youth Day on the way to WYD Madrid 2011

Saturday, 19 June 2010

Hsinchu (Agenzia Fides) – The diocese of Hsinchu, which will host Taiwan Youth Day 2010, has begun registration for the event on the diocesan web site and also through Facebook. A report sent to Fides said that the week long Taiwan Youth Day, 23 - 30 August, will reflect on the theme chosen by the Holy Father Benedict XVI for Youth Day 2010: “Good Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (Mk 10, 17). The event for Taiwan's young Catholics will include workshops, prayer gatherings and a music festival on the theme of evangelisation. Up to 15 July, young people wishing to take part in Taiwan Youth Day this Summer can register on the diocesan web site, on Facebook, or with the local Youth Pastoral Commission office in one of the Island's 7 Catholic dioceses.
For Catholics in Taiwan preparation for this year's Youth Day is part of preparations for the next World Youth Day scheduled for August 2011 in Madrid in Spain. The first WYD Organisation Meeting has been convoked by the Youth Section of the Commission for Evangelisation of the Regional Catholic Bishops' Conference of Taiwan, for 30 June at the Archdiocesan offices in Tai Pei.
