AMERICA/CHILE - Regina Coeli Radio's new website, to spread the Word of God on the Internet

Tuesday, 1 June 2010

Los Angeles (Agenzia Fides) – The "new face" of the website for Regina Coeli Radio, which belongs to the Diocese of Santa Maria de Los Angeles, has been launched. The new site has been defined as more simple and modern, but always changing. The radio station aims to become a platform for communication and collaboration within the Catholic community and also a point of communion for friends of the radio. It is hoped that with everyone's cooperation they will acquire new partners for the radio.
Through the reality of the radio, it is expected that many Catholics who cannot attend church because of the great distances will still receive the signal and also listen to the Word of God through the Internet. The site will be progressively updated and will allow visitors to leave messages asking for prayers or explanations, to express their opinions and share their concerns, so the service can improve day by day for all.
The note sent to Fides from the Diocese of Los Angeles says that this new version allows a person to even create a user account and register to keep updated on news and access other site services. There is also a section called a "Database of Sounds," still under construction, which will provide visitors with the opportunity of listening to online interviews and programs. Among the other novelties of the new site is the possibility to join the Facebook community and follow the radio on Twitter. These two instruments have become communication tools of great importance for evangelization in these times. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 01/06/2010)
