Madrid (Fides Service) - Missionaries on leave have an opportunity for personal and vocational renewal offered by a course of renewal, updating and missionary spirituality which opened on June 19 in Madrid organised by the Missionary Formation School of the Spanish Conference of Religious sponsored by many missionary realities including the Pontifical Mission Societies in Spain..
The course is for laity, religious and priests working in mission territories who want to devote part of their time on leave at home to reflect on their missionary life. In a report sent to Fides the National Director of the PMS in Spain gave the main objectives of the course: present updated reflections on different theme regarding mission ad gentes (Scripture, Magisterium, Theology of Mission); facilitate reflection-revision on past missionary experience; offer workshops on various aspects of missionary activity (Mission, Justice and Human Promotion, Theology of religions, interreligious dialogue, inculturation ); propose a period of spiritual exercises oriented towards missionary life and activity.
The course is being held at the Claretian Seminary in Madrid, from June 19 to July 4. During the first week participants will be offered the necessary elements for a better understanding of reality starting from God’s Plan for Mission.
