Kalidindi (Agenzia Fides) – The initiatives of the Missionaries of Mary Immaculate in Kalidindi, Andhra Pradesh, continue. Among them, as a note sent to Fides from Sister Roberta Azhakathel says, was an English course which lasted about two weeks, recently held in Kalidindi, for the “empowerment” of young people. “There were nearly 40 children. The lessons were taught by Sister Daisy and myself," said Sister Roberta. "The response was very positive. The youth picked up the language quickly. They participated in the Mass in English, celebrated by our parish priest, Father G. Suresh Merlo, and through songs, dances, and role playing, they have learned to speak English and have also improved their written language.” (AP) (Agenzia Fides 30/04/2010)
