ASIA/HONG KONG - Study Center on Catholicism of the Chinese University of Hong Kong organizes course series on Christian Unity

Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) – The spirituality of unity of the Focolare Movement, Orthodox sacred music, Taize and unity, the unity of Christians, and the study of Christianity in China today are the four themes of a series of courses on the unity of Christians presented by the Center of the Study of Catholicism of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. According to information received by Fides, the initiative is motivated by the urgency to explore the theme of Christian unity. According to the director of the Center, Catholic priest Fr. Louis Ke Loon, "Christian unity requires academic support, but also an effort from Christians ... The academic work on the unity of Christians can help Christians to respond to contemporary society, which experiencing changes on a cultural and environmental level, and even in globalization." As reported by the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), the courses began March 24 and continue until April 21 in collaboration with the community of the Focolare Movement, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in Hong Kong, the Orthodox and Anglican Churches, and other Protestant groups.
