AMERICA/PERU - Youth from the PMS make an invitation to a Missionary Easter: “sow hope and proclaim love”

Lima (Agenzia Fides) – Enthusiastic in their efforts to awaken the missionary spirit of their peers, members of the movement "Jóvenes Sin Fronteras" are preparing the Youth Missionary Easter, which annually brings together hundreds of young people from different schools, parishes, universities, and institutes throughout Lima. The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Peru sent Fides a note on preparations for this great event to be held on April 1, 2 and 3.
"Jóvenes Sin Fronteras," a Missionary Youth Movement of the PMS, has been carrying out this celebration since 1981 to offer young people a means to fully live out their Easter celebrations. Each year, the Coordinating Group presents a current theme chosen for young people, to allow everyone to internalize and deepen in the mystery of the Easter Triduum. This year the slogan is: "Dare! ... With the strength of your youth sow hope and proclaim love." This message encourages young people to take on the challenge of proclaiming Christ in today's world, revealing the important role they play in our society as the main bearers of a message of peace and hope.
Youth Missionary Easter offers a chance for a personal encounter with Christ and for the exchange of experience through teamwork. It also presents participants with the reality that is now being faced on every continent, so that everyone can observe the great needs of the world and young people can become aware of the fact that the mission extends beyond our borders.
Each day, they will focus on a different message: Holy Thursday, the theme is the Eucharist, with the invitation "Find Your Strength in the Eucharist," and is intended to convey that Christ awaits us in the Eucharist to send us the strength we need. Good Friday, the theme is "The Cross: Symbol of Hope and Life," with the aim of looking at the cross as an act of love that pours upon us a new hope to live fully. Holy Saturday's theme is "Christ is Risen ... He Announces Love to the World," urging young people to share what they have experienced in the missionary experience of these three days.
