ASIA/TAIWAN - “Making God Present”: yearly gathering for volunteers in Diocese of Tai Chung

Tai Chung (Agenzia Fides) – "The Catholic volunteers are working to participate more in the district where they live, to expand their services and make the Gospel spirit of charity present, thus making God present." With these words, Bishop Martin Su Yao Wen, Bishop of the Diocese of Tai Chung , encouraged the diocesan volunteers during their annual meeting held at the Bishop's Residence in recent days, according to information received by Fides. The Bishop also honored volunteers who have already carried out 300 hours of service and celebrated the sending-out of new volunteers. Lastly, he stated that "voluntary service has transmitted Jesus' Spirit of Love, giving the volunteers themselves the chance to experience the reality of practicing eternal love, justice, and peace."
The Diocese of Tai Chung has 36,394 faithful, 3 bishops, 74 priests (29 diocesan and 45 religious), 9 religious brothers, 122 religious sisters, 15 major seminarians, and 3 minor seminarians, along with 76 catechists, 5 deaneries, 54 parishes, 29 mission stations, and 85 semi-public public. The Church also operates 1 university with 11,603 members, 3 schools with 7,691 members, 1 primary school with 1,582 members, 16 kindergartens with 613 children, 7 middle/high schools with 355 students, several rehabilitation centers for children, with 314 children, a language school, and a Center for Formation.
