New York (Agenzia Fides) – The Salesians of Don Bosco in the United States of America have just launched a new website that highlights the work they do at the United Nations and for the world in favor of young people. The new website is designed to provide easy access to information on the work of Salesians, especially in those areas that receive special attention from the Member States of the United Nations. It also facilitates access to routes within the UN system and other resources to help educate visitors, particularly young people, in different areas of interest. In addition to providing regular updates from United Nations sources and from Salesian sources, the website will also use social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube to maintain constant contact with visitors through discussions, comments, and video. The Salesians are working to increase participation by young people and those living in poverty in UN debates, so as to take into account their needs in formulating policies and decisions that affect them.
