Sydney (Agenzia Fides) - Mark the liturgical season of Advent, with stories from the missions, testimony of evangelical life, messages and ideas of Christian life, prayer and brief spiritual reflection: this is the objective of the Advent Calendar being made available online by the Redemptorists in Australia and New Zealand.
The Calendar has a photo for each day of Advent, which offers thoughts, musings, experiences, and prayers for daily use, even from behind the desk of a personal computer in the office.
The calendar is marked by the title "Living in the Community of Hope," and its aim is precisely to "bring hope to all those who, traveling on the Internet, feel disoriented," so they can find Christ, who has come to share in the human experience in its totality.
The tradition of the Advent Calendar is widespread and acute in countries in central and northern Europe and, by extension, is also present in Oceania. The on-line calendar is an initiative that shows the need to transfer even on the web - understood as a vast field of evangelization - many of the pastoral initiatives that are proposed in parishes, schools, and in the ecclesial community.
