Cairo (Agenzia Fides) – On November 18, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches, arrived for a visit to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, upon the invitation of His Beatitude Antonious Naguib, Patriarch of Alexandria for Copts, Chairman of the Synod of the Coptic Catholic Church and President of the Assembly of Catholic Hierarchy of Egypt.
Cardinal Sandri met with seminarians and theology students from various religious institutes, in addition to religious priests, brothers, and sisters from several congregations. During his visit to Egypt, the Prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches will hold various ecumenical and interreligious meetings. He is scheduled to return to Rome on November 23.
