ASIA/CHINA - “Priesthood and Holy Orders” is the theme of the spiritual retreat for the Year for Priests in the Diocese of Tian Jin, held in the new Diocesan Pastoral Center

Tian Jin (Agenzia Fides) - “It was like re-living the moment of my ordination. Now I am ready for the new mission, with the strength I have gotten from this spiritual 'recharge'.” This was one of the commentaries made by a priest after participating in the retreat for the Year for Priests in the Diocese of Tian Jin, entitled: “Priesthood and Holy Orders,” which took place October 12-16 in the new Catholic Pastoral Center in the Diocese of Tian Jin.” Fr. J.B. Chiang, CM of Taiwan was invited to lead the retreat, in which he reflected on the meaning of the priesthood and the grace of living the Sacrament of Holy Orders, encouraging the 21 priests present.
The retreat was held in the new “Catholic Pastoral Center of the Diocese of Tian Jin.” Recently inaugurated, it is one of the most important diocesan projects of the year and takes up almost 9,000 square meters of surface area, with a building of 3,000 square meters that can lodge 120 persons at once. The complex includes a chapel, meeting rooms, prayer rooms, classrooms, and laodging and will be a spirituality and formation center for priests, religious, and the laity of the diocese. Today, the Diocese of Tian Jin has nearly 100,000 faithful, 27 priests, and 28 religious from the Congregation of Charity that carry out a very active missionary service.
