Thursday, 24 September 2009

Cucuta (Agenzia Fides) – In the celebrations for “Bible Month,” which is taking place in various Latin American nations (see Fides 22/9/2009), the Federation for Bible Study of the Diocese of Cucuta has organized a Bible Week that will begin this coming Sunday, September 27, and last until October 4. As a statement sent to Fides by the Department for Social Communications of the Permanent Secretariat at the Colombian Bishops' Conference said, the activities this year will focus on Saint Paul, “and his example of how to strengthen one's personal faith as a missionary disciple, and at the same time, the faith of Church groups and the parish communities of the Diocese.” Among the themes that will be addressed during Bible Week, which intend to reveal the “parallel between the Apostle Saint Paul and the missionary disciple,” are: “Chosen and Called,” “Witness to Jesus' Gospel”; “Formation and accompanying the community”; “Preaching the Gospel with a team of men and women”; “Fraternity in Community Life.” (GT) (Agenzia Fides 24/9/2009)
