AMERICA/ARGENTINA - Day for Pastoral-Social Ministry in the Archdiocese of La Plata, on “Dissemination and Application of the Social Doctrine of the Church,” to reflect on “Caritas in Veritate”

La Plata (Agenzia Fides) – Beginning today, September 9, and continuing every Wednesday of the month, in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows, there will be a Pastoral-Social Ministry Day in the Archdiocese of La Plata. The theme chosen for this year is “Social Mission - Dissemination and Application of the Social Doctrine of the Church.” As organizers explained in a statement sent to Fides, this cycle of encounters will also serve as a presentation and time of reflection on various aspects of “Caritas in Veritate,” Pope Benedict XVI's first encyclical to address social issues. Opening the Pastoral-Social Ministry Days will be Archbishop Hector Aguer of La Plata, who will address the theme from an historical, anthropological, philosophical, and cultural perspective.
