Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - “Faithful to Mary and Her Son Jesus” was the guiding theme for the celebration of Vespers and the Marian Procession held in the Archdiocese of Czestochowa, at the Shrine of the Black Madonna of Jasna Gora, in honor of the Year for Priests. The Marian Procession with the image of the Madonna of Czestochowa, Patroness of the City, was organized on August 25, beginning at the Cathedral of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Czestochowa and ending at Jasna Gora.
According to information sent to Agenzia Fides, the celebration was presided by Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak of Czestochowa, who in the homily during the Solemn Vespers mentioned that, “we should be faithful to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and faithful to Jesus. In the Year for Priests, we also pray for priests and for new vocations.” The Marian Procession was attended by faithful from all over the Archdiocese, priests, religious, seminarians, and members of ecclesial movements.
