Cairo (Agenzia Fides) – On June 13, Feast of the Saint Anthony of Padua, Archbishop Michael Fitzgerald, Apostolic Nuncio in Egypt, will celebrate a Mass in Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Cairo.
Saint Anthony of Padua is Patron of the poor and oppressed and is very popular among the Christian faithful in Egypt. The alms offered in his honor are called the “Bread of Saint Anthony,” because they are used to help those suffering from hunger, a drama lived by many people especially in poorer nations.
