AMERICA/PERU - Latin American Encounter of Catholic Television Stations and Producers to contribute to the promotion of pastoral activities and the Continental Mission

Callao (Agenzia Fides) – In accord with the Continental Mission, the Peruvian Bishops' Commission on Social Communication and the Department of Communications of the Latin American Bishops' Council (CELAM) are preparing a Latin American Encounter of Catholic Television Stations and Producers, for December. The Encounter will take place in Callao, December 3-5, with the theme: “With a Vision towards the Mission”
The purpose of the event is to encourage the production and distribution of audio-visual materials, in order for Catholic institutions and organizations to exchange material and thus, contribute to the promotion of pastoral activities and the Continental Mission, in the spirit of Aparecida. The event will be attended by Bishop Ricardo Garcia, President of the Peruvian Bishops' Commission on Social Comunications, Bishop Hector Gutierrez Pabon of Engativa (Colombia), President of the CELAM Department of Communications, as well as other Bishops of Peru.
During the encounter, participants will address various themes regarding the work of journalists and televisions as “Challenges and opportunities for audio-visual media,” “How to use quality communication on television,” “Promoting human values on the television,” and more.
