AMERICA/JAMAICA - Archbishop of Kingston-in-Jamaica resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI on 12 April 2008, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Kingston-in-Jamaica (Jamaica), presented by Archbishop Lawrence Aloysius Burke, SJ, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. He is succeeded by Bishop Donald Reece, auxiliary bishop of the same Archdiocese. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 14/4/2008; righe 5, parole 60)
