AMERICA/DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - 20th Week for Theological-Pastoral Reflection on the themes from the Aparecida Conference.

Santo Domingo (Agenzia Fides) - From February 18-21, the 20th Week for Theological-Pastoral Reflection of 2008 is being organised by the Pontifical Seminary of Saint Thomas Aquinas and the National Institute for Pastoral Ministry of the Episcopal Conference of the Dominican Republic. Its objective is the discovery of a greater knowledge of Discipleship, the Continental Mission, and Pastoral Guidelines, in light of the Document from the Fifth General Conference of Aparecida. The activities will take place in the Pontifical Seminary of Saint Thomas Aquinas, and will be attended by various Bishops from around the country.
Among the speakers are: Archbishop Ramon Benito De La Rosa y Carpio, Archbishop of Santiago de los Caballeros and President of the Episcopal Conference of the Dominican Republic (CED) who will speak on: “The Disciple and the Aparecida Document”; Bishop Jose Dolores Grullon Estrella, Bishop of San Juan de la Maguana, with the theme: “Pastoral Guidelines in the Aparecida Document”; and Fr. Pedro Rivas, Pastoral Vicar of the Diocese of Bani, with the theme: “The Continental Mission and the Aparecida Document.” On Thursday, February 21, the Closing Mass will be celebrated by His Emminence Nicolas de Jesus Cardinal Lopez Rodriguez, Archbishop of Santo Domingo and Primate of America.
The Week for Theological-Pastoral Reflection is designed for priests, religious, seminarians, laity, ecclesial groups, leaders, and pastoral ministry workers who are interested in acquiring a more profound Christian formation.
