Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Tell me who is your God and I will tell you who you are. It is known in the ambit of the phenomenology delle religions, that the spiritual experience man has inherited from his forefathers down through the centuries is the basis of the 'type' of society which he has built. One need only observe the different civilisations on the planet to realise that each has developed a particular type of society depending in the religious concept from which it came originally. With a phrase which is synthetic, but effective enough, we might say: tell me which divinity you adore and I will tell you the society to which you belong. Or, tell me who is your God and I will tell you who you are.
- 10th birthday of MISNA news agency: “I would like to send you a choral “Thank you”. Without you we would not be here, MISNA would not exist. Thank you for helping is to celebrate ten years and for helping is to go with you - with our limits - from our work and our desks - ad gentes - to the people of the world most in need of help and love.” Yours devotedly, Pietro Mariano Benni
- Archbishop Forte: authority is condition of the Church's “synodality”. The Document examines in the context of ecclesiology of communion, the relation between "ecclesial communion conciliarity and authority" and tackles the issue of the “pròtos - kephalé” - of the “first and head ” of the Church - at the local level (the bishop), regional (il Patriarch) universal (the Bishop of Rome), applying Canon 34 of the Apostles - fundamental text for eastern ecclesiology - at the same three levels. In this sense it constitutes an agreement between Catholics and Orthodox on a theological, ecclesiological and common platform on which to found discussion on the primacy of the Bishop of Rome.
- “The Evangelical vision with regard to women is an important message which goes back to the attitude of Jesus Christ”, said Archbishop Pedro Lopez Quintana, Apostolic Nuncio in India, in the opening address presented by his delegate Fr Vinay Kandulna to a Meeting held at St. Albert’s College in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
