VATICAN - TODAY ON THE INTERNET - Forum of Catholic NGOs starts on November 30 in Rome - In India about 500 delegates will attend CCI Catholic Council of India Meeting

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - A summit of Catholic NGOs proposed by the Holy See's Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone ,will start on 30 November in Rome. The Delegations, representing Caritas internationalis, New Humanity, UMOFC, World Union of Catholic Woman's Associations, IMCS Pax Romana, International Movement of Catholic Students, and others will be received in audience on Saturday by Pope Benedict XVI. On the first day the participants will focus on ''an analysis of the challenges facing Catholic NGOs" and be free to speak on urgent issues and problems. The second day reflection will focus on 'future goals and collaboration'.
- About 500 delegates, including archbishops, bishops, priests, religious and lay Catholics from all over India will take part in a meeting of the Catholic Council of India CCI from 1 to 3 December at St. Albert's College, Ranchi, to reflect on "Promotion of women in the Church and in Society", the same theme to be treated at the next assembly of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India in February 2008 at Jamshedpur CCI, said CCI, secretary Fr Varghese Pullen.
