VATICAN - Programme of Pope Benedict XVI's Pastoral Visit to Naples on Sunday 21 October

Vatican City(Agenzia Fides) - The programme of Pope Benedict XVI's Pastoral Visit to Naples on Sunday 21 October was made public today. The Holy Father will travel by helicopter from the heliport in Vatican City to the Stazione Marittima Square at the Port of Naples. From there the Pope will travel in an open car to Piazza del Plebiscito where at 10am there will be a concelebration of the Eucharist and the recitation of the midday -Angelus prayer. Then the Pope will drive to the Archdiocesan seminary of Capodimonte where at 1pm he will meet leaders of delegations taking part in an International Meeting for Peace. After lunching with Cardinals, the Bishops of the Campania Region of Italy and the participants at the International Meeting, at 4pm the Pope will pay a visit to Naples Cathedral to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament and venerate the relics of Saint Gennaro. At 5.30 he will depart by helicopter for the Vatican where he is expected to arrive a 6.30pm. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 16/10/2007; righe 12, parole 175)
