Vatican City (Fides News Agency) – The third session of the online seminar on missionary animation and formation in times of artificial intelligence is scheduled for Thursday, April 30 (see Fides, 8/3/2026).
The International Secretariat of the Pontifical Missionary Union (PMU) has accepted the proposal from the National Direction of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Poland to create a step-by-step course on the use of artificial intelligence in activities related to missionary work.
The Seminar is part of a broader series of events and initiatives planned between 2024 and 2026, coinciding with several important anniversaries this year: the 100th anniversary of the establishment of World Mission Day, the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Pontifical Missionary Union (PMU), and the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the pious practice of the Living Rosary. The online meeting, open to all, is aimed particularly at national and diocesan directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), national secretaries of the PUM, and all those involved in the network of national and diocesan PMS organizations. The practical applications of the various resources will be the central theme of Thursday's session, which will be opened by Father Dinh Anh Nhue Nguyen, Secretary General of the PMU, at 12:30 p.m. (Rome time).
Following the introduction, Karol Gnat, television producer, presenter, and founder of the Polish channel “Odbudowani” (Rebuilt), will speak on the topic: “Using Artificial Intelligence to Create Simple Animations for Mission Work.” A discussion and exchange session will follow the presentations.
The workshop will be conducted in English with simultaneous translation into French, Spanish, and Italian, and will conclude at 2:00 PM (Rome time). The program poster and link are attached. (EG) (Fides News Agency, 29/4/2026)
