ASIA/THAILAND - Easter at Rayong Camillian Centre: eight children are baptised, tireless pastoral care and therapy for children with HIV/AIDS

Wednesday, 11 April 2007

Rayong (Fides Service) - Fr. Giovanni Contarin in charge of Rayong Camillian Centre which for the past ten years has provided treatment and pastoral care for children with AIDS, (see Fides 8/1/2007), sent the following Easter message to Fides: “Tomorrow we will celebrate the baptisms of 8 children and we will pray especially for Thip and Phu, two children in hospital in serious conditions. The 22 teenagers who live at the Independent are our hope and the fruit of our work for 15 years in the sector of HIV/AIDS. Thousands of people with HIV or AIDS are connected with our programmes, although the government’s anti-retroviral programme is quite good, we are in daily contact with prejudice, discrimination, suffering and death caused by the virus. This urges us to extend our programmes of preventions and protection from the virus, as well as education to values connected with life in the family. On the occasion of Easter I wish you and your families Easter Blessings, may you welcome the Resurrection of Christ with hope, joy and love which God the Father has revealed. Fr. Giovanni Contarin, Fr. Siranon, Brother Tobia, all the staff and the children patients”. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 11/4/2007 - Righe 14, Parole 220)
