Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Bibliografia Missionaria LXIX 2005 is a publication of the Pontifical Missionary Library founded in 1925 and since 1978 jointly with the Library of the Pontifical University Urbaniana. This unique listing of missionary texts offers rich documentation, books and articles, on the missionary world, from the point of view pf history, religious orders, missionary congregations, mission territories, missionary methodology, inter-religious dialogue, ecumenism, new religious movements. It brings together publications of all the principal Christian Churches. Each year the volume presents the whole panorama of the missionary world with about 3,000 entries chosen from over 800 periodicals published in various countries. The headings of the volume are in English while the Book reviews are in various languages, English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Polish, Scandinavian and Spanish.
Bibliografia Missionaria was an initiative of Fr. Johannes Rommerskirchen OMI, and the first edition was published in 1925. This painstaking work is today undertaken by Fr. Marek Rostkowski OMI, librarian. Bibliografia Missionaria LXIX 2005 lists 2.653 articles on 22 subjects including: theology of mission, history of mission, mission present and future, missionary institutes, ecumenical dialogue and mission, religions in general, mission and atheism, mission and culture, mission situation in the world: Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, United States and Canada, Australia and Oceania. The book review presents 51 books on missionary issues. The volume has and index of authors and other persons and an index of subject matter. (S.L.)
