Rome (Fides Service) - The diocesan investigation into the life, virtues and fame of holiness of John Paul II will conclude on 2 April in the Cathedral of Rome, the Basilica of Saint John in the Lateran. The Cardinal had been informed of the conclusion by the Postulator of the cause for the late Pope’s beatification and canonisation Mgr Slawomir Oder. The opening session was held in St John’s on 28 June 2005,less than the normal three months period after the death of John Paul II thanks to a special dispense granted by Pope Benedict XVI.
The ceremony will be followed by the inauguration in the Cathedral courtyard of an exhibition with the title «Totus Tuus. John Paul II in 60 drawings by Nani Tedeschi». In the letter the Cardinal Vicar invited everyone to attend the ceremony to close the diocesan investigation and later that day a Mass to mark the 2nd anniversary of the death of John Paul II presided by Pope Benedict XVI at 5.30pm in St Peter’s Basilica.
