ASIA/SOUTH KOREA - Suwon Diocese launches Family Sanctification Movement

Saturday, 3 February 2007

Suwon (Agenzia Fides) - The Evangelisation Office of the diocese of Suwon has officially approved a new locally formed Church Movement for the Sanctification of the Family which will start its activity on Ash Wednesday 21 February 2007. The Movement proposes for member families a plan for spiritual life: once a week day for Family Prayer; once a week Mass with all the family; once a month Day of Love in the Family to learn how to dialogue and forgive; once a month a Day of Sharing in aid of the poor.
In view of the initiative aimed at revitalising family life the Office for Evangelisation has prepared a guidebook, texts and special initiatives to be distributed in every parish.
The Movement, said Evangelisation Office director Mgr John Moon Hi-jong aims to make a new start with the sanctification of families putting Christ at the centre of daily life and striving to find time for prayer, sharing and service. This in order to save families, keep them united, render them authentic witnesses to Christ, bearers of values and builders of a culture of life in response to calls to defend life in a materialised and secularised environment. “The Movement is inspired by the Holy Family. The Office for Evangelisation hopes to help families live the joy of imitating the Holy Family of Nazareth” the director concluded. (PA) (Agenzia Fides 3/2/2007 righe 25 prole 259)
