Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The European Commission has launched a healthcare portal. The goal of Health - EU Public Health Thematic Portal is to facilitate access to information on medical matters in 47 different areas ranging from prevention to research, from health policies to bio-terrorism and tips on how to live a healthy life.
News, events, statistics and information in six thematic areas will serve as a reference point for scientists, medical staff, control authorities, and individual citizens.
In 2005 more than one third of the people of Europe (130 million users) used the Web to find information on healthcare and often met with difficulty because of the complexity of the theme.
