Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On June 22, 2023, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, appointed Rev. Alphone Daniel Essey, as Rector of the "Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary" Interdiocesan Seminary, in the Archdiocese of Yaoundé. The new Rector, of the clergy of Bafia, is 46 years of age and has been a priest for 16 years. He obtained a bachelor's degree in philosophy at the Marie-Reine des Apôtres Major Seminary in Otélé (1999-2001) and, later a bachelor's degree in theology (2002-2005). He received his PhD in Spiritual Theology at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (2006-2011). Previously he was formator and administrator of the same seminary (2011-2018) and since 2018 he he has been Rector of the Propaedeutic Seminary of Nden. (EG) (Agenzia Fides, 30/8/2023)
