Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On April 24, 2023, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, appointed Father Nito Chatulica, C.S.Sp. as Rector of the "Saint Augustine" Interdiocesan Philosophical Major Seminary of Matola in the Archdiocese of Maputo.
Father Chatulica, 60, was born in Bailundo in Angola, entered the Minor Seminary of the Holy Spirit in 1982 and was ordained a priest in 1997.
Soon after he was sent to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau to work in different parishes. In 2004 he returned to Angola and held the position of parish priest and episcopal vicar of pastoral care in some Catholic missions. Subsequently, he went to France in 2012, to follow the formation course for formators. From 2014 to 2021 he was Master of Novices in the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in Angola. (E.G.)
