Maumere (Agenzia Fides) - This year the celebrations for the feast of Saint Camillus on the island of Flores will be full of small events. On July 14, the feast of the founder of the Order of Ministers of the Sick, MI, there will be 11 new novices, 4 professed, 2 deacons and 4 new priests. "Our joy and gratitude to the Lord who continues to bless our missionary work is great", Father Luigi Galvani, a Camillian from Maumere, told Agenzia Fides.
The missionary stopped to comment on the tragic situation that the missionaries, Camilians and non-Camillians, are experiencing on the island of Haiti (see Fides, 11/7/2023) to whom he expressed his full solidarity. "The men and women missionaries are, indeed, worthy of admiration and must be supported with all the means we can offer. For us, who live on the other side of the world, the help we can provide is prayer and a lot of encouragement not to give up. Truly anything is possible with the power of prayer". "Let us not get tired, then, of doing some good to the many poor and sick who come so often to encourage us. This is how they keep us in shape…", concludes Father Galvani.
