Genoa (Agenzia Fides) - Together with some diocesan and voluntary organizations for Africa, the Society for African Missions (SMA) organized an event in memory of Ambassador Luca Attanasio, assassinated in Congo on February 22, 2021 (see Fides, 23/2/2021).
"Luca Attanasio, originally from Limbiate (MB), in the few years he spent in Congo, managed to build deep relationships of esteem and friendship with the Italians who work there, especially with the volunteers and missionaries, visiting them where they work and sharing some moments of his life", writes Father Marco Prada, SMA. When he received the Nassiriya International Peace Prize, Attanasio assured that "being an ambassador is a bit like a mission: when you are a representative of the institutions you have the moral duty to lead by example". His example and testimony will remain forever, especially for our young people. It is possible to participate, both in presence or, near and far, through youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/user/ilcittadinotv. (MP/AP) (Agenzia Fides, 26/2/2022)
