Tombura Yambio (Agenzia Fides) - "It is not enough to call ourselves Christians or disciples of God or children of God. We must work within ourselves, within our hearts. Only if we continue to act as believers will we be able to solve our problems", said the bishop of the diocese of Tombura Yambio, Msgr. Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala. Reflecting on the pastoral activities and challenges of his diocese, the Prelate confirmed his total gratitude to God for the continued commitment of the local Church. "The Church is moving forward, we are grateful to God who, despite the countless challenges in the country, gives us the strength to resist. Our true pride and strength is faith. My diocese is a diocese of faith, a people who identify with God and this gives us the motivation to continue on this path".
In the diocese of Tombura, many young people are asking to join religious life, and the number of priestly vocations is increasing. My diocese is very large and is fertile ground for vocations", the head of the Catholic Church reaffirmed. Our diocese is also known as a region of peace. We have conflicts, but the good news is that people turn to God and urge him to take control and address their problems. We leave all difficulties in God's hands. We must never stop being ambassadors of peace". Reflecting on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bishop regretted that "many children had to interrupt their studies and social services were not activated due to limited resources".
