Year of Prayer: Pontifical Missionary Union organizes online conferences on prayer and mission

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Father Fabrizio Meroni, of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME), General Secretary of the Pontifical Missionary Union (PMU) and Director of CIAM (International Center for Missionary Animation) is the new Director of Agenzia Fides. He was appointed by Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. The appointment takes effect from 1 August 2016 to 31 July 2017.
Born in Milan in 1963, Fr. Meroni was ordained a priest in 1988, and carried out his pastoral service in Cambodia, Brazil and the United States of America. Since 1 December 2015 he has been General Secretary of the Pontifical Missionary Union and Director of CIAM. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 09/09/2016)
