Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The initiatives and projects implemented and supported especially in Holy Land by the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre will have from now on a new instrument in order to be known throughout the world: the new international Web site of the Equestrian Order www.oessh.va, inaugurated recently by Cardinal Edwin O'Brien, Grand Master of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre is already available in five languages, the new site was designed by the Communications Department of the Order, in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Holy See communications. The new website - reports Francois Wayne, Director of Communications Service of the Order - will primarily be at the service of the members themselves - 30 thousand Knights and Ladies, scattered around the world - to follow the information regarding the Holy Land, in particular those related to the life of the Latin patriarchate and the Franciscan Custody. But "all those who are interested in the Holy Land" adds Wayne "can find the encouragement on this site to continue to help the Christian communities who live in the biblical lands, within a perspective of dialogue and a dynamic universal fraternity".
Today – says Wayne - "the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre are men and women engaged in their dioceses, mostly lay people who seek to live their Baptism in the light of the spirituality of the empty tomb, to witness the power of the resurrection of Christ dedicating their energies to supporting the "living stones" of the Mother Church in the Holy Land". Among the models of holiness that inspired them is Blessed Bartolo Longo, apostle of the Rosary and lay member of the Order, who at the ruins of Pompei "built a place of prayer and social works, source of hope for millions of pilgrims". Members of the Order will go to the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompei in October on a Jubilee pilgrimage, during the Holy Year of Mercy. (GV) (Agenzia Fides 20/07/2016)
