Chimbote (Agenzia Fides) - On December 4, 1958 the Bolivian state granted official recognition to the Caritas Bolivia Social Pastoral as an institution created by the Bolivian Episcopal Conference (CEB), with the aim of facilitating and coordinating the local Church in the social field and represent the work with government agencies and the international community.
In this process of working at the service of the poorest among the poor, as informs the note sent to Fides, the objectives were aimed at promoting human development, integral development, leadership formation, the strengthening of democracy with the participation of population. The problem of land and productive economic development were fundamental. The theme of health, human mobility, justice and prison issues, care for the disabled and elderly, as humanitarian assistance in emergency situations are part of the institutional activities.
