Maputo (Agenzia Fides) - Work has begun to rebuild two new classrooms in the Primary School '19 de Outubro of Ngalunde, 42 km from Maputo, district of Marracuene. The news of the great feast, which involved all the 800 pupils, the school board members, teachers, parents, traditional authorities and government, was given by the non-profit organization Development Cooperation Centre, committed to improving the quality of education and the well-being of children. Due to the shortage of classrooms, more than half of the students have been forced to study outdoors for years, exposed to rain and the heat of the sun, that compromised and often prevented the normal course of lessons. To counter this situation, the rural community of Ngalunde is currently busy in the construction works, which began on 12 October. From 2016 all school children will attend lessons in classrooms.
