ASIA/THAILAND - Appointment of Rector of the "Lux Mundi" Major Seminary in Bangkok

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 18 September 2015 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples appointed rev. Peter Charoen Vongprachanukul of the diocesan clergy of Ratchaburi as Rector of the "Lux Mundi" Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Bangkok.
The new Rector was born on 25 September 1964 in Ratchaburi, and was ordained a priest on 6 September 1992. He attended the Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary and the Lux Mundi Major Seminary. After his ordination he continued his studies at the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (Communication), the St. Thomas Aquinas Pontifical University (Spirituality) and the Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University (Education). Among the positions held: parish priest, rector of the Immaculate Conception Seminary, professor and spiritual director of the Lux Mundi Major Seminary, dean and professor at Saengtham College.
