Lima (Fides Service) - Manchai is one of the poorest districts of Lima. People fled here to this arid outer district of the capital to escape terrorism in the interior and find safety. Living conditions are precarious but there is great love for the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, parish priest Fr José Chuqulianqui told Fides. He said that since the Pope was first admitted to hospital the people gathered to pray for the Pope and attend special masses and hours of Adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
