AFRICA/GHANA - Archbishop of Accra resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Fides Service) - The Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, on 30 March 2005, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the archdiocese of Accra (Ghana) presented by Archbishop Dominic Kodwo Andoh, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 §. The Holy Father appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra (Ghana) Bishop Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle, until now Bishop of Koforidua. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 30/3/2005; Righe 5; Parole 74)
